Laura Fulk is an American fashion designer and artist. Based in Minneapolis, she holds a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts from Minneapolis College of Art & Design (MCAD). Her higher education focused in printmaking, sculpture and photography, though she closely tied them in with her love for fashion.
Fulk’s highly-acclaimed apparel has won multiple national awards from Goldstein Museum of Design, Minnesota Historical Society, Artwear Midwest, Niche Magazine, ArtBistro, etc. Her creations were curated as permanent collections at Goldstein Museum of Design and Minnesota Historical Society, displayed alongside Dior and the like.
Fulk currently designs and produces women’s ready-to-wear under the Laura Fulk label, as well as bespoke menswear, costumes for theatre and rock bands, including Bella Koshka and Theatre de la Jeune Lune. She designed for and produced runway shows at the proclaimed Walker Art Museum, the Weisman Art Museum, and at nearly every historic rock venue in Minneapolis / St. Paul since 2003. As a pioneer of the Midwestern fashion scene and a 3 year veteran of Voltage, Star Tribune columnist Sara Glassman called her “the best show woman in town.” The debut of her Spring / Summer 2009 collection, dubbed “Suffocate”, gained national attention and was said to have set the standards as the Twin Cities fashion show with highest production value.
